On the morning of November 25, 2022, the first “Interventional Medicine 3D Printing Joint Research Center” in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area was established in Zhuhai. Zhuhai People’s Hospital Medical Group and Zhuhai Sailner Digital Medical Technology Co., Ltd. held a cooperation signing and unveiling ceremony for jointly building the “Interventional Medicine 3D Printing Joint Research Center.”
Interventional medicine 3D printing Joint Research Center is a hospital–enterprise co-built research institution jointly established by Zhuhai People’s Hospital Medical Group and Zhuhai Sailner Digital Medical Technology Co., Ltd. Centered on innovative clinical applications of 3D printing, VR/MR, and other 3D digital technologies in interventional surgery, and aiming at the frontiers of precision medical technology, it concentrates the strengths of both parties around 3D printing applications in interventional diagnosis and treatment to build clinical application and education & training platforms that “progress from shallow to deep, layout comprehensively, develop jointly, and achieve key breakthroughs.”
Cooperation background
The interventional medicine specialty of Zhuhai People’s Hospital Medical Group ranks among the nation’s leaders in development capacity, with strong overall professional strength. It is a leading unit for interventional discipline development in Guangdong Province and even South China. In 2016 it was approved to establish the “Zhuhai Interventional Diagnosis and Treatment Center.” It is the Guangdong Provincial Quality Control Center for Radiological Intervention, covering the full technical scope, full cycle, and full disease spectrum of radiological intervention (comprehensive intervention, vascular intervention, and neurointervention), with functional departments including the Interventional Therapy Department, Cerebrovascular Disease Department, Interventional Operating Room, Interventional Training Center, and Interventional Research Laboratory. It is one of the largest interventional medicine centers in Guangdong Province, with 217 specialty beds in total. The Center is currently a branch unit of the National Clinical Research Center for Radiology and Therapy; vice-president unit of the Chinese College of Interventionalists of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association and chair unit of its Comprehensive Intervention Committee; chair unit of the Interventional Medicine Branch of the Provincial Medical Association; and vice-chair unit of the Provincial Neurointervention Physician Branch. It has been approved as the Provincial Key Laboratory for Tumor Interventional Diagnosis and Treatment Research, a National Health Commission specialized clinical capacity training base for minimally invasive tumor therapy, a Provincial Clinical Translation Innovation Platform (minimally invasive tumor therapy), and a Provincial Interventional Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering Technology Research Center.

President Lu Ligong of Zhuhai People’s Hospital Medical Group delivered remarks. To further advance the scientific development of precision medicine in interventional practice, Zhuhai People’s Hospital Medical Group and Zhuhai Sailner Digital Medical Technology Co., Ltd. joined hands to co-build the “Interventional Medicine 3D Printing Joint Research Center”—a milestone in the development of interventional medicine. In his remarks, President Lu affirmed Sailner Digital Medical’s achievements and capabilities in clinical applications of medical 3D digitalization, and stated that the strong partnership of both parties will powerfully promote health protection for patients and Greater Bay Area residents and even the global development of interventional medicine.
